Jayne is a freelance photographer, born in Stoke-On-Trent, United Kingdom.
She studied ‘DigitalMedia’ at Staffordshire University, ‘Documentary and Photojournalism ’at the Market Photo Workshop, Johannesburg, and more recently studied ‘Film and Broadcast’ at Burslem college and interned with the ‘Mail and Guardian’.
She has spent 11 years living in South Africa, during this time she has worked as a freelance photojournalist and has dedicated a lot of her time to working with children’s charities, outreach projects, theatrical groups and the collection and distribution of food and clothing in South Africa and surrounding countries. Jayne has produced photography and film for charities and organisations, including marketing material and documentary stories.
Jayne would describe herself as a humanitarian who has a passion for photography and storytelling. She has produced documentary work featuring ‘White Poverty in South Africa’, ‘The Ovahimba people of Namibia’, and various projects examining different communities within South Africa.
Her photojournalism has covered ‘Nelson Mandela’s' funeral, ‘Oscar Pistorius’ murder trial, civil unrest and armed conflict in Africa.
Other collections include photographing ‘Mountain Gorillas’ with the ‘Dian Fossey’ Foundation and a photographic project that documented reflections of the ‘Rwandan Genocide’.
